Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Cut Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water supplies, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles struck the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were injured.

The assaults come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
