Vinted Members Share Frustration Over Sizing Changes
Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information.
The second-hand shopping app has revised its size classifications for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all shoppers about the modification.
Digital Channels Backlash
Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification.
The platform stated the revised method more closely matches similar services.
They have suggested members to review their products and update the measurements by hand when needed, resulting in member annoyance.
Measurement Approach Changes
Before the change, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10.
The new system has a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10.
For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
User Experiences
Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
A different member, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she explained.
Necessary Adjustments
A different user, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she explained.

The platform boasts over 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
